Included is the Commander in chief unit banner which is awarded to units of the Canadian Armed Forces (or foreign allied units) who have received the Commander in Chief Commendation. This commendation is meant to recognised a unit (quoting from the governor general's website):
that has performed an extraordinary deed or activity of a rare high standard in extremely hazardous circumstances. Commander-in-Chief Unit Commendations are restricted to war or war-like conditions in an active theatre of operations.
The banner is a vertical tribands of dark blue, red
and pale blue defaced with the Canadian crest of a
lion holding a maple leaf.
